What happens to small business owners when they're forced to compete for employees but can't afford to give big business benefits? Many SMB’s fail to find affordable benefits at a rate that makes sense to them. QuickBooks wanted to bridge that gap and expand their offerings. I led end-to-end efforts from research to prototyping and testing, alongside a cross-functional team within QuickBooks Desktop.

Based on the inputs from the Benefits team, the technical constraints of the product and the user research, we prepared a user flow that would illustrate what we need to build and where a benefit provider would step into the funnel.

New features had not been release for the past 5 years of Quickbooks Payroll — until now. In order to inform and convert, I had to build a scalable framework to define discovery (for more than benefits).

All the benefits in the marketplace follow a similar pattern of integration given the framework i designed to setit in place. This not only let's the experience remain consistent, but also helps identify partners willing to work within the framework.
